The Finlet takes the iconic Steve Lis twin fish design and elevates it with modern refinements for enhanced performance. This board features a slightly narrower outline, with a pulled-in nose and pinched tail, delivering the loose, skatey feel that defines a twin fish, but with improved responsiveness. By reducing foam in the tail, the Finlet allows for easier fin release during turns and reduces drag in transitions, resulting in a more dynamic ride.

We’ve incorporated a modern rocker and updated the rails, giving this fish the responsiveness of a modern shortboard without losing its classic twin fin soul. The single-to-deep double concave bottom provides speed and control, while the fins are set slightly further back for added power and maneuverability. These tweaks create a board that excels in style and performance, appealing to both single-fin purists and progressive surfers alike.

Ideal for beginner to advanced surfers, the Finlet performs best in 2’ to overhead surf, making it a reliable option for nearly any conditions. This board is the perfect bridge between timeless design and contemporary performance—destined to become a year-round favorite in your quiver.

The Paulownia Finlet allows us to appreciate the early days of surfing.  We use a Premium EPS core and Paulownia wood which offers the lightest to strongest ratio wood species in the world!  Even better its the fastest growing species of hardwood trees.
